Why Taglit B'ne Israel (TBI)?

Why Taglit B'ne Israel (TBI)?

I have a dream and Hope that Taglit Bene Israel can become an affiliate of  an established organization like the Taglit Birthright Israel to get the right assistance and needed funding to execute what we need to accomplish. I believe the goals of your organization and what I am proposing are the same with a small difference in the criteria of choosing the people to include in our programs.
The biggest loss we Jews face worldwide is Assimilation into stronger and more popular religions that exist around us. While it affects all forms of Jewry, the Bene Israel are even more at risk of extinction due to their few numbers which are scattered all over India.

The below picture depicts One Loss of a Real Indian Jewish Soul into another culture in India. While all loss of Jews cannot be averted, we can at least give our youth a sense of pride and joy of being a surviving rare breed from thousands of years old traditional culture. Provide them with the  needed willpower and appreciation for Judaism and show them the way Indian Jews kept Judaism alive and handed it down from generation to generation.

While Bene Israel in Israel have a better chance to remain Jewish, the Indian Jews do not have the same advantages of having a strong Jewish influence around them. There are Bene Israel living in Israel, USA, Canada and Australia who still continue many of our ancestral traditions. There are less than 5000 Jews left in India.
Young Bene Israelis will get to learn how we Bene Israels follow our Jewish traditions and survive as Jews, and remain Jewish despite living far away from our homes. Many will surely be in the same situation as work and careers are now taking them into different countries, even where there might not even exist, a synagogue. Preserving a Jewish Soul is our common agenda and with it will come greater support and patriotism towards Israel, we call our fatherland.

I will suggest that every year we secure finance to get Bene Israel Indian Jewish young adults, both girls and boys from India, to visit different countries where the active community members exist, like Israel, USA, Canada, Australia, and give them an opportunity to explore Judaism outside their homes and get different experiences to create a higher sense of value to remain Jewish.

Such a venture can also be provided to Israeli youth who wish to visit India and learn more about the Indian Jewish heritage and help volunteer to protect the many artifacts and synagogues of India, some that are in a bad state due to lack of number of Jews, needed funding and their remote rural locations, that in the old days flourished with a thriving Jewish community.

I am flexible to other creative partnerships. In My Humble Opinion the scope is vast and we can start even by only scratching the surface and make a big difference in securing a better future for our Jewish communities worldwide.

Aamen and Shalom. EmojiEmoji

TBI -.Discover Children of Israel

RE-Introducing
TAGLIT B'NE ISRAEL
( DISCOVERY CHILDREN OF ISRAEL)
(IN PARTNERSHIP WITH The International Organization of Bene Israel)
A DESIRE TO CONNECT
( *A non profit organization run by sponsors and volunteers)

THE AGENDA of TAGLIT B'NE ISRAEL is to recognize that WE EXIST, be PROUD of being the FEW B'ne Israel in the world, and make as many FRIENDS as possible despite living far away. LEARN more about the B'NE ISRAEL CULTURE and KEEP OUR TRADITIONS ALIVE in future generations.
I AM WILLING TO INVEST IN OUR YOUTH TO PROTECT THEM AND PRESERVE OUR FUTURE !!! ðŸ˜‡

It's about being UNITED and having a NETWORKING channel to contact each other when we want o share good news, sad news, need help, seek advise, get suggestions, ask for mentoring, etc.

No obligation- no commitment
Just B'ne Israel NETWORKING

Dear B'ne Israel Jewish Congregation,
I am proud to announce the RE-INTRODUCTION the community group TAGLIT B'NE ISRAEL (TBI)  (Discovery B'ne Israel) which is partnering with The International Organization of Bene Israel (IOBI).

Thanks to the encouragement of Shri John Perry who has remained supportive despite all our growing pains and his owns struggles in getting his organization ramped up with members all over the world.  I am expressing a desire to be UNITED and use out collectively strength to grow this into something useful and try to provide solutions to our common goals. I am seeking your support to become part of this group in any role to Support and Protect our Youth.

Group Name: TAGLIT B'NE ISRAEL (DISCOVERY CHILDREN OF ISRAEL)

Mission Statement:
Unite the remaining B'ne Israel folks in a fabric to connect the youth with each other in the B'ne Israel community. The bigger agenda being to help the B'ne Israel community understand their B'ne Israel roots, traditions, customs. Help B'ne Israel to thrive and provide support and advice in all matters of life, including education, religion, customs, traditions, origins, matrimony, etc., despite the vast separation of distance between us all. The two large pockets of BI community are Thane India and Israel.

As a first step I need to connect all of us to form this group and have NO OBLIGATION from anybody to do anything. LET'S JUST CONNECT.

IF THE YOUTH DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS CONNECTION,
THEN IT'S ALL  OVER FOR THE B'NE ISRAELI COMMUNITY 😟
BUT IF THEY CARE, THEN THERE IS HOPE ...

We will have 3 subgroups of dedicated folks. PLEASE PICK ONE OR MORE CATEGORY FOR YOURSELF. I choose to be #1-SPONSOR  and #2-MENTOR. Pick your category.

#1 SPONSORS (no age limit) : Folks who can sponsor at least ONE youth per year to visit either India, Canada, Israel, USA, or any other place where a MENTOR and his family resides. They can choose a YOUTH delegated to cover the  cost of the trip. (Example: SPONSOR will finance the round trip, and MENTOR will cover the local travel, boarding and lodging. More details after discussion)

#2A MENTORS (Age 40+) : Folks with families and homes who can host ONE youth and be responsible for the educational, local travel, room and  board aspect of the youth when under their supervision.

#2B TEEN-MENTORS (Age 26 - 39) : Young adults who can provide moral support, advise, and company during local travel and if possible provide room and board to ONE youth while under their supervision for a few days.

#3 YOUTH (Age 18 - 25) : Young minds who are of B'ne Israel decent at least from one parent, preferably from financially struggling family, who can get at least 3 other observant Jews to vouch that they are Jewish and following a Jewish lifestyle or having  honest intentions of doing so.

#4 VOLUNTEER  (no age limit) :  Anybody who wishes to provide services in any capacity to promote the cause and help the community. No Monetary requirement.

#5 CONSULTANT (by invitation only) : A honorary friend of Jewish origin who can be trusted to help the cause of promoting the TBI agenda.

INTRODUCTION LETTER:
Hope you are doing well. I wanted to send you this idea with the details  of my proposal.
I propose today the creation of a non profit organization "TAGLIT B'NE ISRAEL"  (originally seeded as "Virtual B'ne Israel Family"). This will be a self funded distributed effort by people from the B'ne Israel community.

The agenda is to TIE THE REMAINING B'NE ISRAEL in a networking fabric to connect our youth with each other as FRIENDS all over the world. The bigger agenda is to help the B'ne Israel community understand their B'ne Israel roots, traditions, customs. Help B'ne Israel to thrive and provide support and advice in all matters of life, including education, religion, customs, traditions, origins, matrimony, etc., despite us being scattered so thinly and separated by vast distances between us.

We will us a Facebook group TAGLIT B'NE ISRAEL and start inviting our members to join.

When we are ready, my personal goal is for each SPONSOR to choose one YOUTH member to visit  their family residence of a B'ne Israel MENTOR and spend time to observer and have a good time as a tourist in general. We will need to sign up more sponsors and mentors all over the world to do so, to enable multiple youth to visit wherever they live and can host a youth for a week or so. It will be a great opportunity for Jewish kids who would otherwise never get this opportunity to get such an experience except with TAGLIT BIRTHRIGHT ISRAEL.

As a first step I need to connect all of us to form this group and have NO OBLIGATION from anybody to do anything. LET'S JUST CONNECT.

I think it is a novel idea and hope you think so too. Let's hope we can get  it to work with support of more motivated youth and elders of our B'ne Israel community.

If you have other suggestion or ideas how to do this  differently, then please let me know.
Thanks to dear B'ne Israel youth who have inspired me and given me a NEW MISSION in life.

Send your thoughts please and Participation is NEEDED and WELCOME.  Thank you.

Regards,
    Sammy

What will be the responsibility of a MENTOR and A VOLUNTTER?

Every member is a VOLUNTEER in some way.

One can be MENTOR and VOLUNTEER at the same time. A MENTOR (40+) will have enough knowledge of BI heritage, traditions and custome. I am now spear heading trying to find people who will provide the collective support for us B'ne IsSrael to be united all over the world.

We can start thinking of ideas where we can contribute by documenting and preserving BI prayer services and customs. Provide advise in areas of immigration, marriage, family issues, kosher, birth, death etc. Anything to make our YOUTH be proud to be B'ne Israel Jews. 🙂
